This is the only custom piece for 2011. I was inspired by some steampunk artwork I had seen and this is the end result.

It was created by layering several brass and steel clock gears that were unusable as repair parts. Thin layers of silver solder and flux were put between the gears and the whole assembly heated until bonded. The small ruby in the center was seated by burr cutting the pinion gear until only the gear teeth were left, and then fashioning prongs from them.
