Loose Stones
It all began with my love of precious jewels and a passion for working with my hands. I began my collection buying stones I loved, such as sapphire and ruby, picking up unusual colors or cuts as I went. This lead to my first purchases of 'non-precious' stones such as citrine or tourmaline. As my assortment grew I began taking classes through both the Gemological Institute of America and the International School of Gemology in order to gain a deeper understanding of the material I was collecting. Eventually I realized that even though the stones were beautiful in their own right, the proper setting would dramatically enhance their appeal. Without the funds necessary to have custom mounts created for each piece, I took the skills I had working and milling various metals, and began to slowly learn the art of creating my own pieces from silver, gold, and other materials. What was born from these two interests has culminated into the works you will see on this website. Some pieces are for sale, some are not, but I am almost always willing to take on a custom project that catches my attention.
